Just a SPECTACULAR photo..easily one of my all time favs. Just one thing though..having to do with that "letting go" comment of yours....Of course, you are right..you do have to let go...but you don't have to let them go ON THE TRAIN TRACK!!! Just teasin..this one is special buddy.
Rick.. this is a stunning photo which really captures the concept beautifully..
i love how the littlest of the children turned to look at you as you took the picture.. it may have been unintentional.. but it seems to add another layer of depth to the photograph. each of their actions say something about them .. the eldest [i'm assuming] balancing precariously on the tracks.. the middle child almost as though he is marching forward.. and like i said the little one looking at you..
i think learning to let go of your children gracefully is one of the most important things in bringing up a child.. [speaking from the other side of the spectrum at any rate]
i'm very humbled by your comment, because you literally detailed what
i was going for with this photo ... i never asked my youngest to turn, but
when he did, i thought ... 'perfect' - you have a gift for breaking things down ...
Yes, letting go is very hard. It was hard for me when my daughter and I were separated by divorce and I moved so far and then got harder when she moved out of state just last year. I think it's easier to let go of the boys though I guess because I always think a man can take care of himself so much better than a woman. Plus I guess I'm just closer to my daughter.
Great photo Rick, nice seeing all the kiddies and the tone is great!
thanks for seeing this, my friend ... i think it's the best piece i've submitted so far, but that's
me ...
