this piece was written this past year and is not the normal
type of writing i've submitted here at DA in the past ... fact
is, i have hundreds of poems like this, that are never shared
because they've served as therapy for me ...
this particular writing is about the rape and near murder of
my dear mother 17 years ago - it took me this long to finally
release my feelings during that day ...
so, why submit this?
i feel strongly that writing is a medium that ought to be explored,
and a writer shouldn't be one dimensional and predictable - more
importantly, the 'only' reason i even decide to share my poetry is
the hope that someone, even if it's one sole person, can relate and
be helped in some small way in their own lives ...
It's beautful. And sad.
